stop everything and STEAM!
With the help of a $11,634 Challenge Grant, the students of Maize Elementary School break from their usual schedule for a monthly day of STEAM activities.
2019 grant awards
We changed a few things in our grant program this year, and we’re excited to have awarded more than $35,000 in Challenge Grants this year!
Student Application Workshop
High school and middle school students participated in the first Student Application Workshop to receive coaching and advice while filling out grant and scholarship applications.
capitol federal® Grand Opening
As part of Capitol Federal's grand opening, the Maize Education Foundation was presented a $20,000 grant, which will be used to support financial literacy and soft skills programming in the Maize School District.
trauma-informed schools
Maize elementary students will receive extra sensory and emotional support while giving them an outlet that helps reduce time spent out of the classroom.
student enrichment grants
The Foundation received 24 applications for Student Enrichment Grants in the Spring of 2019 - double that of previous semesters!
#GivingTuesday
The #OneMa1ze Community came together in support of the Foundation’s first #GivingTuesday campaign in partnership with Heartland Credit Union raising $5,000 to support the educators and students of Maize!
CHSM general store
Congratulations to the Complete High School Maize General Store for opening in the Reflection Ridge Retirement Community. Supported in part by a grant from the Maize Education Foundation, the store is providing an opportunity for students to complete contracts while learning some valuable life lessons.
space 301 camp
MSHS sophomore Ben Gorman attended Space 301 Camp in Houston this summer thanks in part to a $500 Student Enrichment Grant.
Inaugural spring breakfast
The Maize Education Foundation raised more than $14,000 at the inaugural Spring Breakfast presented by Hutton. Mark your calendars and join us in 2020!
2018 Charity Golf Tournament
The 10th Annual Maize Education Foundation Charity Golf Tournament raised over $37,000 and made the Wichita Business Journal list of top fundraising events in the Wichita area.
